i, alyssa deak am 21-years old, but have been a budding chef since before i can remember. whether i am creating cookies, cakes, or delicious dinners, my passion has been inside the kitchen. my parents have always promoted creativity throughout every aspect of life, and the kitchen is where i have stayed.
similar
to a large portion of americans, throughout the past 21 years, weight
has been a concern, a focal point, and an issue in my life. for 20
years, my goal was to stay happy and live however i wanted to. i enjoyed food, i enjoyed lack of exercise & i was stuck in a rut. throughout high school, i slowly gained weight as i became less active. after cheerleading & volleyball were over, i settled for little to no physical activity. i then got a car, and an ability to go wherever i wanted, and eat wherever i wanted. alcohol consumption increased, food consumption increased & (surprise surprise) my weight increased. i would go on fad diet after fad diet but never seeing a result. it was easier to give up and accept what i had become than work hard to change it.
until one
day i woke and realized that i deserved more, i deserved the me i have
wanted for so long. my goal was not to be a victoria's secret model, or
some idol of women, but simply to be the best, healthy alyssa possible. i
soon realized that the way to do that was through what i cooked in the
kitchen. healthy diet and exercise is the key to weight loss and weight
regulation, but for me, most of my results come from the kitchen (let's
be real, i don't work my booty much).
since
i have now realized that my future is in my hands, i have lived the
past 9 months in a better way. i have lost 60+ pounds and am
consistently pursuing healthy ways to change my life. through this blog,
i am trying to share my recipes, happiness, creativity and inspiration
through pictures, videos & stories. don't you worry, healthy
breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and especially desserts will be
shared & i hope that through my journey of healthy living, i can aid
in your transformations. i will answer any and all of your questions or comments. i am trying to get to my goal weight & when i get there i will share it with the world. until then, i hope you will all share in my creative kitchen masterpieces, hurdles, & successes.
